We do hope you will decide to join this fantastic and very special club.
The Early Years
Berghutte Ski Club is a non-profit private sports club founded in 1958 by a group of passionate skier friends. Membership is diverse with a strong family-based orientation.
Today the Club has accommodation for up to 36 people in 12 rooms, all with en-suites. The Club also has extensive living spacewithupperandlowerlivingroomsinanopenplanandaseparateroomforbilliards/table tennis etc. The Club also has superb views across the mountain and parking at the rear of the Club.
The Club enables members to pursue an array of mountain sports activities and provides friendly, affordable, quality accommodation in our well-located purposeful lodge. The Club is supported by good governance and our incredible lodge managers Toby and Susan.
The Club has a rich history of fine skiers over all ages, many who have represented Australia in International competition. Each year the Club fields strong Junior and Senior Thredbo Inter-club teams. Commonly referred to as "Berg", it has earned the respect and admiration of being one of the best clubs in Thredbo for its members and guests both on and off the slopes.
The Club members are enthusiastic people sharing a love of alpine sports and activities across a variety of mountain disciplines. Many members give freely of their time and resources to maintain and develop all aspects of the Club.
The Club has about 350 members covering all ages, with historically a strong weighting of junior members to carry on the true Berg tradition of enthusiastic alpine sports participation long into the future, whilst making life-long friendships along the way. Berghutte Ski Club Limited
VALUE EXTENDS TO THE SUMMER SEASON The Club recently seized the opportunity to open its doors and deliver a great holiday experience for all members and guests through the summer and autumn months thereby extending the value of being a Berg member. Many will say the village is at its best during these warmer months with a raft of outdoor & indoor activities and entertainment on offer.
Of course, the exploding mountain biking scene is now a huge growing attraction at Thredbo. The Club has recently installed new equipment to assist the needs of biking members and guests. Bookings for yourselves, family and friends during the new summer season provide a truly unique opportunity to enjoy the Club's facilities as well as being fortunate enough to enjoy the hospitality of our chef Toby and lodge manager Susan, with food provided like no other club lodge in the mountains

FUTURE PLANS The Board has an ever-evolving plan for The Club whilst still maintaining our original objective to promote and encourage the development of the sport of skiing and other athletic sports games and pastimes of all kinds in Thredbo. Berghutte has always been a comfortable club lodge which has been upgraded numerous times in over 60 years. Our members requirements have changed. For example, there is now a greater need for more flexible room configuration and more couples’ rooms which will allow us to increase occupancy / access for members and guests. Various minor upgrades have been carried out in recent years and we are working through plans for a program of significant upgrades over coming years. It is expected that funding for the next stages of maintenance and infrastructure upgrades will include a combination of new members and a series of MIF levies on existing members. The Board has a vision to make the club even more comfortable to our members and guests. Today’s challenging environment means we will need to be flexible and financially responsible in making this vision a reality.
